Complaint about @Taboola Advertisers - #NambyPambies, (& other insults of that nature (i.e. #SynonymsForCoward)), Scared to Tell You about #MacularDegeneration! | @Google @OxLanguages @ThesaurusCom @WebMD @LowVisionMD

On Taboola chumboxes (shared on my WowApp-homepage & elsewhere (I imagine)), ads will frequently promise to tell 'something' (like "Sneaky Symptoms of Macular Degeneration you might not know about"), but will then send you to 'a related search (which doesn't tell you 'what you clicked to find out'---it sort of Rick-Rolls you)---like the bold, linked text below (to which 'the quoted text above' sent me).

The word “Namby-Pambies” is built on Namby-Pamby (now an adjective meaning "Weakly Sentimental, Affectedly Nice, Insipidly Pretty" ... tagging it #NambyPamby),
originally the Satiric |Nickname (given by Writers (Satirists? I'm not well-read enough to know) like Henry Carey (who actually used the nickname as the title of his parody) & Alexander Pope) of English poet Ambrose Philips ("a Good |Whig and a |Middling Poet") who wrote |Saccharine |Pastorals to Infant Members of the |Nobility.
just like #NambyPambical

To Keep Up on My 'Research,'

Iatrophobia, although it might be specifically Ommetaphobia.

The advertisers are not 'cowards,' but rather "are most-likely being paid by 'the Rick Astley (in this situation, a search-engine ... with a page that showed me NO "symptoms," and where 'searching for it' sent me to OTHER SEARCH-ENGINES 😡)' and not 'the company you think they're sending you to'"---but it comes off as cowardliness.

Other synonyms for Coward:
Weakling, Mouse, Chicken, Scaredy-Cat, Fraidy-Cat, Yellow-Belly, Sissy, 'Big Baby, Milksop, Big Girl's Blouse, Candy-Ass, Pussy (those're ones Google found & shared from Oxford Languages; then they sent me to Thesaurus.com, who added) Wimp, Alarmist, Craven, Cur, Dastard, Deserter, Pessimist, Poltroon, Quitter, Rabbit, Recreant, Shirker, Skulker, Faint-of-Heart (Faintheart), Gutless Wonder, Lily-White Liver, Shirk, Invertebrate, Jellyfish, Malingerer, SneakChickenheart

Turning to Google to find Sneaky Symptoms of Macular Degeneration, I find it's referred-to as "Wet AMD" or "Age-Related Macular Degeneration." Past over-a-page of "Sponsored" Results, they tell me how WebMD introduces their Symptom-List:

If you're in the early stages of age-related macular degeneration, you may not have symptoms. The first sign you may notice is a gradual or sudden change in the quality of your vision or that straight lines appear distorted to you. This may gradually turn into a dramatic loss of your central vision.

Google also lists:

Macular Degeneration is (obviously, since I'm not an ophthalmologist (a word I didn't even spell correctly without spell-check)) some #Degeneration in the #Macular area---'researching' a little more, I find it's "|Deterioration of Light-Sensing Cells in the center of the Retina (|Tissue lining the back of the Eye)."
The word “Macular" is built on ancient words that mean "|Spot, |Stain, |Blotch (such markings on The Sun, on |Minerals etc.)" (here, it's in reference to the #MaculaLutea, the Yellow |Spot on the Retina, Directly-Opposite the |Pupil).

The word “Degeneration" is built on ancient words that mean "Down from- or Away from-one's Descent or Begetting or Birth (or maybe it's more like 'one's Birth- or Begetting- or Descent-straying Away- or Down from the proper lineage ... see |De-)" (although here it's "one's |Eyesight" that's failing, and not "one's Genetic Quality").
