@MaryMillben has a #River of Compassion for Our Brothers-&-Sisters in India | @iMDb @Facebook @Tomorrows_India @NarendraModi @rashtrapatibhvn @theBibleHub
Ambassador Mary Millben shared a performance of India's National Anthem with her friends-&-fans on Facebook.
IMDb lists a few of Ambassador Millben's accomplishments on the page linked through 'that word' (the meaning of a word at the root of the name India) below; but first (and before I share her performance with her comments), I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “River” is built on ancient words that mean |Riparian (of a Riverbank) or "Coast of the |Sea (|Riviera)." #UpTheRiver is slang for "in Prison" because Sing Sing prison is literally 'up the river' from New York City.
#DownTheRiver (Defeated, Doomed, in for a World-of-Hurt ... Etym. O. says it means "Done-for," but I want to know where that gets its meaning) is probably an echo of #SellDownTheRiver---the way early-American slave-owners in the Upper South would sell disruptive slaves to the harsher plantations in the Deep South.
(I should probably mention some positive river-things---how Jesus-leads His flock to the river & -tells His followers to wash (their sins away) in the river, how "a Dream is Like a River" ...)

Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people, dispenser of India's destiny.Thy name rouses the hearts of the Panjaub, Sind, Gujarat and Maratha, of the Dravida and Orissa and Bengal.
It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyas and Himalayas, mingles in the music of the Jamuna and Ganges and is chanted by the waves of the Indian Sea.
They pray for thy blessings and sing thy praise.
The saving of all people waits in thy hand, thou dispenser of India's destiny.
