'That word' (below-hyperlinked to a post about online-readers' "Bounce" or "Engagement") is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The word “You” is built on ... all sorts of 'sounds people made in reference to' a |Second-|Person' (I guess ... Etymonline says, "from PIE *yu, second person (plural) pronoun."
Etymonline says to look at Ye & -Thou.
"Ye" comes from a similar root–þu–influenced by the foundation of "|We."
And "Thou" is–of course–based on the same root as 'You.'
