Interesting (and revealing) that the lyrics are not 'When the God-Man Comes to Stay"—maybe 'leaving us' was the only way He could "take our sins away," carrying them through The Grave (Hell) then up into The Heavens (either to destroy The Sins there or -after He destroyed The Sins in Hell).

So; if we believe He takes our sins away, does that mean His return means He brings our sins back? (This is where it's important to remember that He Washes Our Sins Away (or that We Wash Our Sins Away in His Name, just as He told people He healed to wash themselves in the river)—that the dirt of Sin flows back into the Earth and we continue above it in righteousness)
