#HappyBirthday to the #June26 #BirthdayCohort (with @ChrisODonnell & @SeanHayes & ... you?) on #BartendersAndMixologistsDay @VinePair | @innsOfCourt @TheLawyerMAG @wIKIPEDIA @411Holidays @BirthdayMates #TheFamousPeople @YourTango @MySundayMass

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday'---maybe focusing on one of these holidays & or event-anniversaries in each entry)?'

On a day when we celebrate #Bartenders & #Mixologists, it seems best that we learn 'the difference between a #Bartender & a #Mixologist 😋.' That difference is explained in a report linked through 'the main words' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find that you understand words better when you look at the other words at the bases of the words you're thinking-of ...

A Mixologist (student of #Mixology---'Alcoholic-Drink'-ology) is a Bartender who focuses on 'Mixing the Perfect |Cocktail' so closely that he/she Ignores the Customer (while 'one who Tends the #Bar' is a Professional who's Responsible for the |Pub's Hospitality (which only include Drinks' Formulation secondarily)).
The word “Bar” is built on ancient words that mean |Barrier, "to Obstruct, Prevent" (the word used for "a |Tavern" because of the '|Barrier' between the Drinker & the one Serving Drinks; the name for "the Lawyers' |League" derives from the |Railing that Separated the Benchers from the Halls in the Inns of Court, though it later referred to Wooden |Railing that Marked Off the Judge's Seat (#Barrister)
(... some say the word's deep root means "the |Bushy End," but that theory is usually discredited as nonsense.) #BarGraph #BarCode #BehindBars #ChocolateBar #CandyBar #BarNone
The word as 'a Unit of |Pressure' is built on ancient words that mean |Heavy (tho I suspect that those ancient words also had an influence on the word for 'the Weight (referring to the Formed Bricks) of Precious Metal' (#GoldBars #BarsOfSilver #BarsOfPlatinum ... there are #IronBars & #SteelBars etc., but I get the feeling that those are rooted in the 'Barrier'-sense)).
