The word “Metal” is built on “to Mine, Quarry” (Seek after ... the music-style name "Heavy Metal" seems to be inspired by the sci-fi of William S. Burroughs, was partly named after a style mentioned in Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild," from a 'heavy' guitar-style that was popular in the 'metal midlands').
