God CAN'T Make Us Carry More #Weight than We Can Handle (I Learn from #BibleStudy #WordByWord #Hebrews12One (& Two)) | @BibleGateway @CopelandNetwork @Pinterest @Wikipedia

Oh, he can 'drop it on us'; but he can't make us lift & carry it any further than we agree-to!

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to a post about 'Scriptures I'm told I should carry on my heart') is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Weight” #Weigh #Weights #Weighs #Weighted #Weighed #Weighting #Weighing #Weightage #Weighty #Weightless# is built on ancient words that mean "to Go, Move, Transport in a |Vehicle" (to Lift, Carry (Weigh Anchor), to Consider, Ponder, bring one's Influence to |Bear).

On the birthday-'redemptorandum' that Kenneth Copeland Ministries sent me:

    Hebrews 12
  1. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
  2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
With all the 'COVID-19'-struggles going on, I've got plenty of 'friends' (yes, they really are "friends"; even though I'm using the word in the 'social-network connection'-sense) who claim that "God is protecting them" ... from all the invasions that aren't threatening them & -that they aren't going out to fight against, mostly.

I don't think I'm going to 'confront them about this' with "Oh, so you're going out there & breathing-in all the infected air & bathing in the virus-infection and it's not touching you?" as that might 'carry the odor' of "testing The Lord."

But my point is that "the protection He gives us" is more like 'the power to run and ... not exactly "hide," but more like "avoid attracting attention" or "camouflage our daily lives so as not to trigger harmful trouble."

Oh, "He gives us strength when we need it' (i.e. he is the source of all strength, which he rains-down "everywhere" (equally upon the just & the unjust); and 'giving him credit-for-it' makes you feel like "he sent it to you" when you find some random strength nearby); but he doesn't use it—you have to use it yourself!

That "author & finisher of our faith"-bit also leads to 'some wrong thinking'—"faith" has nothing to do with God or Jesus; it's 'the human faculty of believing without consciously testing,' and Jesus' story confirms that that's how you can live with 'people in-whom you have faith' (trusted friends & elders whose word you accept as Truth).
