Straightening out #FirstJohn5Four ... about #Overcoming the #World ...

I'll discuss 1 John 5:4 (the verse whose interlinear outline you can get to through 'the emboldened link(s)' below); but first–after a mention of the free mining-software (giving us free Bitcoin in exchange for energy we're wasting anyway)–I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

The word “Overcoming” is built on ancient words that mean "Defeat (The Devil, evil spirits, sin, temptation, etc.) in Combat (see Over, Come)."
#Overcome #Overcame #Overcometh
That word is a translation from the Greekνικᾷ (nika)” which also translates "Win, Conquer, |Prevail, |Subdue."

The word “World” is built on ancient words that mean "the Age of Man (see |Virile & ancient words that mean 'Grow, Nourish, the Human Race, Long Period of Time, the Affairs of Life, Human Existence')."

That word is a translation of the Greekκόσμον (kosmon)” which also translates "Order, Worldly Affairs, the |Inhabitants of the World, |Adornment."

I think I've only ever heard the KJV of this verse read--ending with "and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith"--I always think he's saying that 'God's victory overcomes even our faith!' But no---the writer there is saying that 'Our Faith' is the victory that overcomes the world! (which is clearer in most of the other versions).

BibleHub lines up the translations well, so I'll just blurt the quote again,
The Greek "ὅτι πᾶν τὸ γεγεννημένον ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ νικᾷ τὸν κόσμον καὶ αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ νίκη ἡ νικήσασα τὸν κόσμον ἡ πίστις ἡμῶν" - transliterated "hoti pan to gegennemenon ek tou Theou nika ton kosmon kai haute estin he nike he nikesasa ton kosmon he pistis hemon"
The main translation (with any options Google Translate sees) "For (That, Aught) everyone (pan, entirety) - (the, it) having been born (native) of (from, out) - (of, his, its) God (god) overcomes (wins) the world; and this (she, her) is (out) the (or) victory (win, nike, flying colors) - (the, or) having overcome (won) the world: the (or) faith of us (our)."
