The main sin I'm confessing here (one that we all are partially guilty-of): Choosing the cheap-&-easy of an international chain (Amazon, mostly ... and maybe McDonald's, Walmart, Pizza Hut, General Electric, Microsoft, Google, Facebook) over the costly-&-difficult of Shopping Local (I can't even remember any local places!... I'll look for local equivalents-of Amazon, -of McDonald's -of Walmart, -of Pizza Hut, -of General Electric, -of Microsoft, -of Google or -of Facebook; but none probably come to mind).

We all choose the cheap-&-easy, because it leaves us more money & time to make ourselves comfortable in the short-term. But it also has long-term effects like 'making our local areas less-attractive than the local areas where our money pays for community-improvements.'

'Those words' (below-hyperlinked to a post about the Oklahoma Gazette-ad that complained about the bad effect brought about by our sin) are built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Short” is built on words that mean “Cut.”
The word “Long” is built on the same Bedrock as words that mean “Perpetual.”

And it's important that we do this 'penance' (reviewing 'true sense'-meanings of these words) because ... "Penance" is a part of the Catholic sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)—the believer goes into the confession-booth (usually a small-room ... about the size of one of a music-school's individual 'practice-rooms'), confesses to the priest, and the priest assigns a 'penance' (a small task to confirm the believer's penitence ... usually 'saying a certain number of "Hail Mary"s' ... to verify to themselves & to God/everyone-else-involved that their sins are forgiven ... as long as there's no debt still standing).

Or am I looking at that wrong (or 'wrongly' 🤓)? Tell
me how-wrong/right I am in the comments below 😁
