Great Expectations for #Hajj (one of the #PillarsOfIslam ) this Year, @MSNnews shares report from @LATimes | #BibleHub

Los Angeles Times explains Saudi Arabia's expectations in a report you can access through 'the emboldened link(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

The word “Hajj” is built on ancient words that mean "Pilgrimage, Feast, Gathering." (one who has made 'that pilgrimage to |Mecca' is given the title #Hajji 👍🏽).

The word #Pilgrimage is (aside from 'a compound of the word #Pilgrim and the suffix -age') built on ancient words that mean "Distant Journey, |Crusade."

The word "Pilgrim" is built on ancient words that mean "from Beyond the Field" (leading to the U.S. Western slang meaning "|Newcomer," though the original American #Pilgrims called themselves that (or #PilgrimFathers) in reference to the Christian Bible's "Hebrews 11:13").

'The word there-translated "Pilgrim" (παρεπίδημοί)' can also be translated "|Sojourner, |Exile, |Stranger in a |Strange Land, |Subst."

The article mentions that hajj is "one of Islam's five pillars," because they know that list-bloggers like me are unable to resist:
The Five Pillars of Islam - duties that Muslims must perform to show submission to Allah (in case it's not visible above)
  1. Salat or Salah (الصلاه ... Prayer) - prayers done five times a day, kneeling to Mecca at dawn, noon, afternoon, evening, and night
  2. Shahada (الشهاده ... Profession of Faith) - "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger (or Prophet)."
  3. Hajj (حج ... Pilgrimage) - the journey-to-Mecca that Muslims must do at least once in their lives---like Catholics and the 'Anointing of the Sick'-sacrament
  4. Zakat (زكاة ... Alms) - It is a Muslim's duty to give 2.5% of their income to the poor/needy.
  5. Sawm (صوم ... Fasting) - During RamadanMuslims are forbidden to eat or drink from dawn to dusk.
(and forgive me if 'the Arabic script' there is just "an Arabic translation of the Americans' transliteration of the actual word")
