#HappyBirthday to the #May20 #BirthdayCohort (with @Cher & #RonReagan @FFRF & ... you?) on #MetrologyDay (NOT #MeteorologyDay) | @411Holidays @BirthdayMates #TheFamousPeople @YourTango @MySundayMass

I sometimes get a thrill from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday'---maybe focusing on one of these holidays & or event-anniversaries in each entry)?'

That way I can go back & input new birthdays & events etc. Like today's #Metrology Day (celebrating the science of weights & measures, NOT the science of the weather).

That holiday's explanation is linked through 'the main word' below; but I feel it's more important to understand that word better. And I find that you understand words better when you look at the other words at the bases of the words you're thinking-of ...

The word “Metrology” is built on ancient words that mean "Measure, Length, Size (|Meter)" with the suffix -ology
The word #Meteorology (celebrated on March 23) is built on ancient words that mean "Treatise about Things High Up." #Meteorological #Meteorologist

Today's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Taurus (on the cusp of Gemini) ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Busta Rhymes, Cindy McCain, Cherilyn Sarkisian (a.k.a. Cher ... yes, THAT Cher), James Stewart, Joe Cocker, Bronson Pinchot, proud atheist Ron Reagan, leader of the Haitian Revolution Toussaint Louverture, novelist Honoré de Balzac, Dolley Madison ... and lots more I don't recognize (maybe you do recognize some ... you can find the date at the birthday-cohort link)

(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)

And I Wonder What Saints' Day my Heart of the Nation calendar says this is:

Saint Bernadine of Sienna, with the clergy wearing White Vestments (both for the seasonal color & the saint's optional memorial)
