tho @ElonMusk's new logo for Twitter probably isn't 'the #LetterX' (for trademark-purposes, "X" probably being 'owned' by @Meta), it seems that 'That's What Everyone Calls It Anyway' (the same way we all still call Meta "Facebook") | @Google @nyTimes @BusinessInsider @LindaYacc

I'll-get 'into the weeds' and -spelunk 'down that rabbit-hole' in a moment, but first ... |That letter| seems important; so I found out a little more about the origin of |that letter| (below, possibly-linked to the 'rabbit-hole' Elon Musk's 'rebrand of Twitter' inspired (if I narrow it down to one link)) and share my findings with you below (and you might start/continue the discussion in the comments).

The letter |X| sits at the peak of the high tower above the Greek letter #Chi (uppercase/lowercase Χ χ ... pronounced 'kai', the letter was frequently used in words that meant "Two things Placed Crosswise, -Arranged |Diagonally; Marked with an |X|" ... also often representing the -ks- sound, as well as the -kh- (see |Ch ... as in Bach, Loch Ness ...).
The meaning "Unknown |Quantity/Quality" seems to have evolved from the algebraic use of 'the Crossed -|r-' (see radix, Root), & Descartes used "|X|, |Y & |Z" as Unknown |Quantities that corresponded to "A, |B & C (which were 'Known |Quantities' in his equations)," & evolved through--among other things--use on containers of alcoholic-beverages (with #XX denoting "Double Quality"- & #XXX denoting "Strongest Quality"-|Malt |Liquor (if not "Most-Unsuitable-for-Children" on |Movie-Descriptions).

(It comes to mind how people will often describe 'Crossed-out things' as #XdOut (or #ExedOut).)

To Keep Up on My 'Research,'

Maybe Meta owns the 'social network'-name "X," but Musk owns "SPACE X" and the logo is probably the same as the one used for that or for

(I thought maybe he might have a clever name for the new logo; and maybe he does, but the name he used on an email to all Twitter's employees was "X.")

...

I guess that rabbit-hole didn't go as deep as I thought it would (sure, there are TONS of news-articles out there about 'the big change,' 'the death of the blue bird (Larry the Bird ... named after Larry Bird, a star player from the Boston Celtics in the home-town of Biz Stone (one of Twitter's co-founders); but they all just basically said Elon did it ... and that's---OK.)
