#HappyBirthday to Y'all (in the #January23 #BirthdayCohort with @NorahODonnell & @TiffaniThiessen & ALL the #FamousBirthdays @Bing lists) on #NationalRhubarbPieDay @NationalToday (also #NationalPieDay (in general)) | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates @YourTango @MySundayMass @CopelandNetwork

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays, awareness-dates &/or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

National Today explains our celebration of #Rhubarb Pie in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “|Rhubarb|” is built on ancient words that mean "Foreign (|Barbarian) + the River |Volga" (the Medicinal Root was from The |Orient, but became associated with Russia because that's how it got to Europe (and from there to the rest of The |Western World); 'Rhubarb' is also Baseball-Slang for "a Loud |Squabble on the Field," probably from the word's infamous use as Stage-Actors' Imitation of |Indiscernible |Hubbub or -Conversation in the |Background)

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

This Day's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Aquarius (in the wake of Capricorn) ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Mariska Hargitay, Norah O'Donnell (I wonder if she's related to Lawrence ...), Richard Dean Anderson, Tiffani Thiessen, John Hancock, Rutger Hauer

... and many others (most of whom are at the 'Birthday-Cohort' link)---

you might comment telling why we should recognize a special one I missed ...

Or maybe you'd like a reminder of 'where you've seen one of the ones we DO mention'; Ask in your comment!

I haven't gotten my Heart of the Nation calendar (which tells me which celebrations we (Catholics) are celebrating, and which color Vestments the clergy are wearing); so I look at my KCM 2022 Calendar, which tells us that today's the day to read Psalms 14-17 & Proverbs 3:1-18 (if we're sticking to the plan to read the whole Bible in a Year)
