The #Pedestrian DOES NOT HAVE THE #RightOfWay (at least not the way we were TAUGHT they do) ... at least #NotInOklahoma | #Pedestrians, losing #Precedence
I mention a search I did for traffic-law (and you can MAKE MONEY by adding your comments) in a discussion linked through 'those terms' below; but first I want to understand those terms better. And I find you understand terms better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word "Pedestrian” is built on ancient words that mean "on Foot" (leading to the adjective-meaning "Prosaic, |Dull, Not |Versified, |Plain (of Writings)").
Right-of-Way is "the Legal |Holder of #Precedence (I think they mean something like 'Non-|Trespasser-hood') in an area of Convergence (between Pedestrian & |Vehicle-User).
The word "Precedence (\ #Precedency #Precession) here, 'Status Established in Order of Importance or -Urgency')" is built on #Precedent (\ #Precedented #Unprecedented), from #Precede (\ #Preceding #Preceded #Precedes) built on words that mean "to Go (Yield) Before" (to Walk in-Front-of).
an exception, I'm pretty sure |
