David Doel explains CNN's corrupt practice in a video linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “Gotcha” (to (Attempt to) Catch a person |Perpetrating Sinister #Shenanigans 🃏") is a colloquial pronunciation of the phrase "(We Have) Got You!" 
The word "Shenanigans"--tho it is a lot like the Irish word that means |Fox--might actually be built on ancient words that mean Trick, Deceit, or Peddlers' lingo for Work or |Craft.
