Looking for the symbolism of the German flag (to link this entry to my Vexillology-post, which is hyperlinked through the bold 'grain of sand' below), I saw a ton of "parody"-diagrams (meme-jokes? Joke-memes?) that said the colors symbolized all sorts of things ... my favorite?
The word “Work” carries the scent of “to Do; Military Fortification.”

Flags World clarifies the flag's meaning: the current flag is a simple representation of three equal parties of Germany's Republican Democracy (as proposed in the mid-1800s)---the Centrist-, Democratic- & Republican parties. (I'm not sure 'which color symbolizes which party.')
