A Real #FatherFigure would Want to Be Her #Stronghold, a #Fortress & #Shelter from the Mistreatment of the Immature Boys out there | #Fort #Fortify #Fortification

In his song Father Figure, George Michael sings, "So when you remember the ones who have lied; Who said that they cared But then laughed as you cried; Beautiful darling, Don't think of me ..."

At first I didn't understand that–'if you want to be her "Father Figure," wouldn't you want her to think of you in her times of trouble? to come to you to seek solace?'–but then I read a little of 'the story behind the song' ... how the girl in the story was only 11-or-12 (the guy being in his 20s or 30s (or 40s or older)).

So the line "I have had enough of 'crime'" (repeated several times in the song) isn't referring to 'the "crime" it is for any man to think himself worthy of any woman's love,' it's referring to the crime of "Statutory Rape!"

That's why the guy didn't want the girl to come to him for protection! (Oh, that accusation is made & -denied in comments on that song's fact-page; and the girl in the video doesn't look underage ... but then I thought high-school kids in movies were actually high-school age—how could I judge 'someone's age' on the TV-screen?)

But the words for 'what I would provide for the girl for whom I would want to be the father-figure' are built on even-deeper sources ... crucial words that firm the foundation upon which the our lexicon stands ...

The word “Fortress (Fort, Fortification)” is built on Foundations that mean “|Mighty, Firm, Steadfast, Brave, Spirited” (|Defending Wall, Strong Place; maybe |High, |Elevated, |Hold, |Support).
The word “Shelter” is built on ancient words that mean “|Shield + |Troop (as the original 'shelters' were built of Interlocking shields on the battlefield).”
The word “Stronghold” is built on ancient words that mean “Strong + |Hold” (|Refuge).

Or maybe I'm looking at it wrong—that's one reason
Our Father God said "It is not good for the man to be
alone":  "Because the man'll think he's right until someone else shows
him why he's not"—Won't you show me
if I'm right-or-wrong in the comments below?
