#HappyBirthday to @WhitneyCummings & @Beyonce & ... you? (the #September4 #BirthdayCohort) on #WorldBeardDay | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates #TheFamousPeople @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays &or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains the #Beard (and gives some hints on how the holiday started) in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “Beard (\ #Beards #Bearded)” is built on ancient words that mean ... there's a lot of 'deep research' (which starts to feel like I'm 'an oracle reading the scattered bones') because---well, the root-words generally mean 'Beard'; but you could suppose that it's related to some of the words of the same spelling of those roots ...
e.g. |Bart (short for |Bartholomew), |Bard (both 'the |Shakespearian title' and 'the last syllable of the name I share with a popular chain of pubs in Ireland, a science-fiction writer, the main character of a popular nursery-rhyme, the founder of a church, etc.)
There are also hints of connection to words that mean |Beaver---both on account of a lady's pubic Hair (a.k.a. her '|Beaver') being called her 'nether Beard' and -on account of a |Knight's Helmet's Face-Guard being called a '|Beaver.'
The Beard got so 'taken as a part of a man's face' that people used the word as a verb meaning "to Confront Boldly and Directly" (much the way people use "In your face!" today).

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

Today's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Virgo ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: comedian Whitney Cummings, SNL-(are they still "Not Ready for Prime-Time"?)-player Kyle Mooney, catcher Mike Piazza, Beyoncé (that is Beyoncé Knowles a.k.a. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter), Damon Wayans, Dick York (one of the Darren's on Bewitched), Rep. Anthony Weiner ... and lots more I don't recognize (maybe you do recognize some ... you can find the date at the birthday-cohort link)
Kyle Mooney at top-right, supporting/supported-by the whole cast (most of those pictured, with
many more)

(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating Blessed Virgin Mary, with the clergy wearing White Vestments for the Optional Memorial (Green Vestments otherwise)
