#BooksOfTheBible (#BooksOfTheChristianBible ... we'll save the Quran & Lotus Sutra--even the Apocrypha/Deuterocanonicals--for later) | @ShepherdsChapel @OverviewBible #BibleHub @prayerDotOrg
I figured 'A word-by-word study ought to start with the aim of becoming a phrase-by-phrase, sentence-by-sentence, verse-by-verse, paragraph-by-paragraph, chapter-by-chapter, book-by-book study' (and that phrase's end rings in my memory (from almost every viewing of Shepherd's Chapel's opening-sequence) "study... of God's letter to you---The Bible").
Jeff (at Overview Bible) provides a lot of content on the structure we're dealing with here ...
The books of The Bible (each linked to collections of studies from that book ... and the Apocrypha (Roman Catholics' Deuterocanonicals) are shaded orange below (and mentioned in the other sections where they show up):
- Old Testament
- The Pentateuch/Torah (The Books of Moses) or Law
- Early Historical - Joshua, Judges, Ruth, First- & Second Samuel, First- & Second Kings, First- & Second Chronicles, Ezra, Nehamiah, Tobit, Judith, Esther, First- & Second Maccabees
- "Sapiential" (relating to Wisdom) or Poetry
- Major & Minor Prophets
- New Testament
- The Gospels
- Acts (New Historical, sequel to the gospel of Luke)
- Pauline Letters
- General (or Catholic) Letters
- Revelation (with part of Daniel & other prophets' writings, called 'Apocalyptica' ... from Revelation's Greek title Ἀποκάλυψις (Apokalypsis), unintentionally changing that word's meaning)
