The word “Job” is built on ancient words that mean Mass, |Lump (see |Gob) ... used in phrase jobbe of worke (that's |Piece of Work, as opposed to 'Continuous Labor'). 
The name “Job” is built on ancient words that mean Hated, Persecuted, was |Hostile to, Enmity; or "the Penitent One, the |Patriarch who Turns (to Yhwh)" (figurative of |Bad News, |Destitution, Patient |Endurance). 
The name “Jobs” basically means "a Child of Job" (incidentally, Steve wasn't "born to" the Jobs-family; but they raised him from infancy).
