@DrJoeDispenza explains #Neuroplasticity: He says it's 'How Your Brain CHANGES Your Mind,' but I've Heard @TEDTalks that say it's 'How Your Mind's Paths HARDEN' ... I bet @MissMayim knows the right way!

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to a video where Dr. Joe explains it one way) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Neuroplasticity” (the ability of Neural Networks (in the Brain) to Change through Growth & Reorganization) is a portmanteau of "Neural" & #Plasticity. - #NeuralPlasticity #BrainPlasticity
The word “Plasticity” (Capability of being Molded or -Formed, property of giving Form or Shape to matter) is built on ancient words that mean "to |Mold (see |Plasma)" (that's the |Capability of Change or -of Receiving New Direction; the Surgical-sense is |Remedying a Deficiency of |Structure (that's #PlasticSurgery)
(the substance |Synthesized from |Oil-|Derivatives (which can be molded like Clay if it's Hot enough to Melt)  is described as 'Plastic' by Leo Baekeland (creator of |Bakelite); that use of the word was picked-up by counterculture, using the word to mean False, |Superficial). - #Plastic #Plasticine #Plastics #Plastically
Etymonline says “Plastic” is "a Solid |Substance that can be Molded," and I wonder, 'so what's the difference between plastic & clay?'

Max Cynader gave a TED Talk about 'Enhancing the Brain's Plasticity':

"The neurons that fire together wire together."

See, this is where my confusion starts. They seem to imply that 'neuroplasticity' is the way to make new connections, but then they say that 'neuroplasticity' strengthens old connections (the way one memorizes long texts-etc. by repeating them over-&-over).

And I feel like I'm an example of that. My brain-injury cut some crucial connections (instructions to move my legs, keep my standing-&-walking balance, other functions)—connections I had to reforge over different pathways. Years-&-years of practice ...
