'That word' (below-hyperlinked to Amazon's offer on Billy Ocean's greatest-hits album) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Ocean” is taken from the name of the Titan Oceanus, whose name is built on the ancient Greeks' name for all the Water that surrounded |Africa & |Eurasia (back when they thought 'the entire Earth' was just 'those two Lands on a Disc surrounded by the giant |River, like a |Moat around their Kingdom').
I couldn't find an etymology for the surname (tho I found that the given-name is simply 'being named after the Ocean'), but–when I looked at the Wikipedia for 'Billy Ocean' (famous holder of that surname)–I learned that 'Mr. Leslie Sebastian Charles' took the stage-name from either "'Oceans Estate,' Stepney in London's Lower East End' or (more-likely) 'Trinidad & Tobago's local football team that called themselves "Oceans Eleven."'
