The word |Recap| (if not the term for 'Putting the Cap Back On' 😏) is short for #Recapitulate, built on ancient words that mean "to #Restate the Main Points." 

|Restate| is Re- + #State, the "to Declare" meaning of which is built on the proto-word *sta- "to Stand, make or be Firm" (which is also the foundation beneath the 'Circumstance of Current Existence'-meaning).
