Ewing---writer, scholar, organizer of Chicago-culture) is built on the proto-word *tkei- "to Settle, Dwell, be Home" (the "Circumstances"- & "Post of Employment"-meanings were added on to the ancient "|Place, Position, Location"-meaning).
