#OverexplainingTheJoke behind the #Mordor Fun-Run (LoL "There and Back Again, a Fun Run Story") | a shirt @StephenAtHome (and his family) would probably love! | #FACTS-ALL @Wikipedia
SNORG TEES
offers the "Mordor Fun-Run" T-shirt on a site linked through 'the emboldened link(s)' below; I'll explain why we nerds think it's funny, but first–after a
mention of
the free mining-software (giving us free Bitcoin in exchange for energy
we're wasting anyway)–I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words
better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the
words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases,
etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The imaginary kingdom-name “Mordor” is built on ... well, the closest entry Etymonline had (on Jan. 27, 2023) is Murder - a word that's probably related to the one writer J.R.R. Tolkien used ... FACTS-ALL explains that Mordor was named before Sauron settled there, because of its |Volcano (with |Eruptions caused by |Morgoth) "Mount Doom"---fellow nerds tell Wikipedia name comes from imaginary words that mean "Black Land, Land of |Shadow."
#MistsOfMordor #DarkTongueOfMordor
FACTS-ALL also hints that Tolkien based Mordor on the Industrialism that conquered his childhood town of |Birmingham.
The "joke" comes from the wizard Lord Boromir's reply to the idea that members of The Fellowship can just walk into Mordor & casually toss The One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom.
