And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
The word “Slag” (it's "Refuse from Smelting" or "Denigration (the life of a Person who's called a Slag ... but 'the word itself' is the Adventure I Went & Let take up the Slack) is built on ancient words that mean "to Strike, Slay." 
And of course Blogiverse is a portmanteau of #Blog (itself a portmanteau of Web & Log) & Universe.
