I start to express my frustration (at a nation that 'memorializes' a murder-victim while 'at least one' death-defeater continues to suffer the #oppression society unleashes on survivors of brain-injury) in a paying discussion you can access through 'the emboldened link(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

Maybe we 'honor' The DEAD Victims because they are now unable to CHOOSE to forgive & be free.

The (Berean Study Bible) text of that context--a passage labeled "The Evil of Oppression"--reads
• #Ecclesiastes4One: "Again I looked, and I considered all the Oppression taking place under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; the power lay in the hands of their oppressors, and there was no comforter."
Then there was the verse I quoted first, and then

In the rest of the passage, The Teacher 'explains' (or 'implies') that it is good to "toil and bereave your soul of enjoyment" if it strengthens your unity with your spouse & offspring (the very best reasons to continue living ... and if you--like me--might never have a spouse & offspring, maybe you can take your mind off "how miserable you are" (according to The Teacher) by focusing on the lives of those who aren't so miserable).

In Young's Literal Translation (or else in a word-for-word translation that doesn't strive to 'make sense' out of the words), those first three verses read
