#HappyBirthday, #May3 #BirthdayCohort (with @DuleHill & @cbsGregGumbel & ALL the #FamousBirthdays @Bing lists)! on #WorldFreePressDay | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays, awareness-dates &/or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains 'the world's celebration of #Press Freedom' in a report you can access through 'the bold, linked word(s)' below; but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)

The word “Press” (named after the machine that originally |Stamped Multiple Copies of Journalists' Latest Witness-Accounts) is built on ancient words that mean "to |Strike."
#ThePress #FreedomOfThePress #PressFreedom #WorldPress #NationalPress #LocalPress #PressPass #PressAgent #PressConference #PressConference #InPress #InThePress #Pressed #Pressing #PressTheFlesh #FullCourtPress #GoldPressedLatinum (I don't know if that's a real thing; but now "It's on the Internet!")
The derivative meaning "Force into |Service (usually Military/Naval- ... related to #Praesto (#Presto?))" is built on ancient words that mean "to Stand (make- or be Firm) Before."

hmm, HC tells us that Gazette--though its origin might still be 'little treasure'--actually came to mean 'newsletter' because "the gazzetta" was the Italian coin (in Venice) that it cost to buy a newsletter---that's like if we called soft-drinks "quarters" since that's what they used to cost!

It 'thrills me' a little that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

This Day's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Taurus ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: James Brown, Frankie Valli (frontman of The Four Seasons), Niccolò Machiavelli (immoral cynicism philosopher who wrote The Prince), Israel's former PM Golda Meir, Christopher Cross (musician with 80's hits "Sailing," "Arthur's Theme"), infomercial-czar Ron Popeil, Dulé Hill (Guster on psych), Greg Gumbel, Robert Osbourne (a frequent host of Turner Classic Movies), leading physicist (of his time) Steven Weinberg,

... and many others (most of whom are at the 'Birthday-Cohort' link)---

you might comment telling why we should recognize a special one I missed ...

Or maybe you'd like a reminder of 'where you've seen one of the ones we DO mention'; Ask in your comment!
