I trust that HBOMAX's documentary will answer any questions you have about the Beanie Babies craze---how the company got started, how it managed to grow into 'an industry,' etc.
All I can add (or maybe 'repeat,' as they probably include a lot of "young consumers' experiences" in the film) is 'how it affected my experience of the world'---I would probably compare 'Beanie Mania' to "baseball-card collecting" or doll-collecting or coin-collecting or maybe Pokemon ... 'Gotta Catch/(have mom & dad) Buy/Trade `Em All!'
