Upcoming #HinduHoliday of #KaliPuja (November 4, 2021; October 24, 2022) @HolidaysCalendr | #Puja of #Kali
Holidays Calendar explains Kali Puja in a report linked through 'those words' below; but first I want to understand those words better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
“Kali” is the black-skinned Death-aspect of |Devi (the |Hindu Mother-Goddess), and her name is built on ancient words that mean Blue-Black (or Time (as a Destroyer)).
"Puja" (also a feminine name, also spelled #Pooja (पूजा, પૂજા, পূজা, ਪੂਜਾ, పూజా, പൂജ, பூஜா, ಪೂಜಾ)) is Sanskrit for |Honor, Worship (Ritual of Reverence).
