We Discuss Opinions- and Speculations (by @Maddow et-al.)-arising from the #TexasAbortionBan | #Ban #Banned #Banning #BanTheBomb #BannedInBoston
We discuss the Ban legislated in Texas (and you can make money by joining in the discussion) in the forum linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “Ban” is built on ancient words that mean "to Curse, Prohibit"; senses built on more-ancient words that mean "to |Summon, Banish"; senses built on even ancienter words that mean "to Order" (Speak, |Tell, Say, Law (#Bann #Banns, 17th-century |Croatian Military-|Chief), Proclaim).
my contribution to the discussion (also shown at the 'Ban'-link above)
I just saw Rachel Maddow's 'reports' (at least the first few) on the Texas Abortion Ban (which she predicts will be 'plagiarized' by many other states, now that The Supreme Court has ... did they okay the law? I forget ...) anyway; The way Maddow-&-co. present it, it sounds like the Texas-legislature 'banned dancing' (like the town in -Footloose- ); so I want to make clear ... ABORTION IS NOT FUN! I don't even want to know the whole medical procedure--maybe it's like 'getting your prostate examined' (i.e. it's not "fun," but it's not TOO painful ... and like abortion IN NO OTHER WAY)--but it's not something girls want to do when they're with all their friend down at the mall! Sure, women should have EVERY RIGHT to it---assuming that their doctors advise them of all available options
