#HappyBirthday to Y'all (in the #September28-#BirthdayCohort with @HilaryDuff & #JaneaneGarofalo (right @GarofaloNation?) & ... You?) on #Rabies Day | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates #TheFamousPeople @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays &or awareness-days or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains World Rabies Day in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “Rabies (as well as #Rabietic #Rabid #Rabidity #Rabidness #Rabidly)” is built on ancient words that mean "to be |Mad, |Rage" (the |Mad-Dog Disease is actually a secondary sense; Hydrophobia in humans, as one of the symptoms is a Fear of- or Aversion to-|Swallowing Water).

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

Today's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Libra ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Dita Von Teese, spy Ethel Rosenberg, Thomas Crapper (inventor of the ballcock (the floating ball in your toilet's water-closet), Bam Margera, Hilary Duff, Naomi Watts, Confucius, Janeane Garofalo, Brigitte Bardot, Jeffrey Jones (Edward R. Rooney in Ferris Bueller's Day Off), Ed Sullivan ("Really big shyoo"), Young Jeezy, Moon Unit Zappa ... and lots more I don't recognize (maybe you do recognize some ... you can find the date at the birthday-cohort link)

(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating St. Wenceslaus & St. Lawrence Ruiz & companions, with the clergy wearing Red Vestments for the Optional Memorials (Green Vestments otherwise)
