The word “Pool” is built on ancient words that mean Puddle (#SwimmingPool #PoolParty) or--with the notion of "Playing for 'Money' (although the |Stakes were oftentimes |Hens)"--Few, Little. #DirtyPool #PoolShark #FootballPool #DirtyPoolOfPolitics 
There's also the sense of "Shared Reservoir of Resources" or "Group of Persons who Share in Duties or |Skills" #TypistPool #DriversPool
