The word “Chord” is a sorta-shortening of Accord, related to ancient words that mean "the String of a Musical |Instrument" (from Catgut, Cord, |Entrails ... a.k.a. the Straight-Line Intersecting a Curve, and the Feeling- or |Emotion-meaning stems from the notion of the Heart/Mind being a Stringed-|Instrument).
