#Confusion: if He is The Gate (The Way into the Flock's Pen), How Can He Be 'The Shepherd' (who travels Far-Away-from The Flock to Rescue Lost Ones)? @OkcWestminster #Confuse #Confusing #Confused #DazedAndConfused

'That word' (below-hyperlinked to Westminster Presbyterian Church (OKC)'s live-stream ... if it's only playing a loop of their broadcast's introduction, I'm sure that page also links to archived videos there) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The word “Confuse” is built on ancient words that mean "to Pour- Mix- Mingle- |Join Together" (|Throw into Disorder, Trouble, Disturb, |Upset).

Westminster Presby.'s service (although I heard it stopped its broadcasting last week), Pastor Paul told us how he & his wife experienced a bit of insecurity recently when they had to replace the fence around their yard.

That brought up Bible-times' shepherds' practice of putting fences around their herds ... they weren't "impenetrable fortresses," because 1) they were basically piles-of-stones--only high enough to contain the sheep--and 2) there was always 'a gateway.'

Pastor didn't specify 'how the gate worked'---or he did, but he went on to describe "how Christ is Our Gateway" before I had 'time to remember the specifics about the gate' 🙄

Another possibility (more-probable, looking at the pen in the picture): Pastor explained that the Shepherd had to serve as the Gate. But--as Pastor continued to refer to Him as "The Good Shepherd"--my mind reviewed what Jesus said about 'The Good Shepherd' ... not 'that he guards the flock,' but 'that he forsakes the flock in order to find- and bring back-the few flock-members that get lost.'
