Only #OkieKushClub (Norman, Oklahoma) would combine a #PatientDrive & a #Tailgate Party (9/1/19) - #Tail #Gate
At many big events (football-, baseball-, basketball-, hockey-games), fans will have a small pre-event party in front of the stadium/diamond/arena/rink—serving snacks & drinks out of the back of one's truck, van, station-wagon or car ... that's a 'tailgate party' (I think—never having been to one myself.)

The word |Tailgate| is (obviously) built on “Tail + Gate” (the Hatch on the |Back of an Automobile, originally referring to the Back Panel on a Wagon ... also a verb, "|Follow |Too |Close |Behind another |Vehicle").
The word |Tail| here (and most other places) refers to "the Rear |End," but the word is built on “ |Long-&-|Slender |Shape” ( |Tuft of |Hair).
The word |Gate| is built on the same foundation as “ |Opening, |Passage, |Eye of a Needle, Hole, Gap, |Breach, Street, Lane, |Alley” (I'm reminded of Lord Jesus Christ's teaching that the 'gate of Life' (preachers are quick to equate it to 'the road to Heaven' or whatever fairy-tale language they use to dupe you into following them)—how it's said to be 'like fitting a Camel through the eye of a needle' ... tho I think "the eye of the needle" was slang for 'Jerusalem's Gate').
