@iamJohnOliver guides the #WrongfullyConvicted to Find #Justice | @CNN @LIICornell

The 'etymology' below is just keeping with my other theme (because that's why I started blogging---to show that all words (like the emboldened ones linked to John Oliver's reporting on Wrongful #Convictions) are linguistically built upon earlier foundational words)

I'm seeing I already 'posted' on this story a while ago ... but I've added to the 'bases' and added a small 'update' at the bottom of this post ...

The word “Justice” is built on ancient words that mean “a Legal Right, Law (Jurist)” (Exercise of Authority in |Vindicating the Victims/Falsely-Accused by |Assigning Reward or |Punishment; Merely, Barely, |Exactly, |Precisely, |Punctually).

#Just #Justice #Justly #Justified #Justifying #Justifies #Justify #Justices #DepartmentOfJustice (#DOJ) #UltimateJustice

The word “Conviction” is built on ancient words that mean “to 'Intensely (Com-)' Conquer, -Fight."

#Convict #Convicted #Convicting #Convicts #Convictions #Con

John Oliver tells us about #AEDPA.

AEDPA stands for the Antiterrorism and Effective Death |Penalty Act of 1996 (which limits Habeas Corpus in order to more effectively eliminate death-row convicts).

I know it may be too late for you to help Melissa Lucio--the innocent mother who was set to be executed--but maybe we can prevent the next innocent (wrongfully convicted to be executed) from such a dark fate ... checking on that: CNN reports the execution was at-least delayed when the court found new evidence.
