#HappyBirthday to the #May17 #BirthdayCohort (with @BobSaget & @Trent_Reznor & ... you?) on #WorldTelecommunicationAndInformationSocietyDay @iTU #WTiSD | @411Holidays @BirthdayMates @FamousBirthdays @YourTango @MySundayMass
I sometimes get a little thrill from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday'---maybe focusing on one of these holidays & or event-anniversaries in each entry)?'
That way I can go back & input new birthdays & events etc. Like today's World #Telecommunication Day.
That holiday's explanation is linked through 'the main word' below; but I feel it's more important to understand that word better. And I find that you understand words better when you look at the other words at the bases of the words you're thinking-of ...
The word "Telecommunication" is the word #Communication with the prefix Tele- added (indicating "Audio/Visual Communications Transmitted over a Distance Farther than Naturally Audible/Visible"). #Telecommunications #Telecom
The word “Communication” is built on ancient words that mean "Common, Public, General." #Communications #Communicate #Communicated #Communicating #Communicates #Communicative #Communicater #Communicator #ComLink #Intercom #ComRange #ComBadge #Com
Today's Birthday-Cohort
Astrologically, their sign is Taurus ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Bill Paxton, Dennis Hopper, Craig Ferguson, Enya, Sugar Ray Leonard, Trent Reznor (of NINE INCH NAILS), Bob Saget, author Gary Paulsen (HATCHET) ... and lots more I don't recognize (maybe you do recognize some ... search the date at the 'today's birthday-cohort'-link)
(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)
And I Wonder What Saints' Day my Heart of the Nation calendar says this is:
no saint's feast-day on this calendar; but the clergy's still in White Vestments!
