I remember--growing up--my father would 'enter the Publishers' Clearinghouse Sweepstakes' every year. I don't think I ever quite "put it together" that that was how we got our TV GUIDE & TIME Magazine & a few others (Newsweek, etc.); all I saw was the 'possible sweepstakes-award' that was promised by "the envelope with Ed McMahon on the cover" 🤩
Publishers Clearing House's Sweepstakes (you can enter with the form linked through 'the bold word(s)' below) is 'sort of' a sponsor of the international forum (or maybe it's more like 'they subscribe to the SPONSORS' Clearinghouse that pays for space on the forum'); but first I want to teach you about those words. And I find you understand words better if you see 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum into their Foundation)
A Clearinghouse is a middleman (whose job it is to ensure that both the Buyers & the Sellers fulfill their Terms of the Contracts ... from Clearing & House) ... #PCH was started in order to replace the magazine-salesman's door-to-door sales.
I guess the 'stakes' are taken from the massive profits of the many subscriptions-contracts the company clears 🤷🏼♂️
