@Wikibuy is Probably Trustworthy, but ... only if they do it FOR FREE | #Wiki #Buy #Bought

#Wikibuy (from CapitalOne) is a browser-extension that "works in the background (when you shop online) to find 'coupon-codes' you can apply to your purchases."

'That name' (below-hyperlinked to their blog-post on how Google Chrome users can download it FOR FREE and use it to save money at Costco, Target, Walmart, Instacart, Groupon, Expedia & almost any other online retailer) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...

The name “ Wikibuy” is a combination of the words "Wiki" & "Buy" (obviously).

I look at their sales-message, and am reminded of HACKERS---where the featured 'hack' (SPOILERS ... (... NO SPOILERS ... because 'the featured hack' had very little to do with the plot of the movie (because there were other hackers whom they were trying to out-hack, etc.) it involved removing less-than-half-a-cent from each of the billions of bank-accounts out there.
I'm sure the coupon-codes (that CapitalOne finds for WikiBuy-users) are totally honest--codes that sellers put 'out there' to help sell their products, codes anybody could find if they had the time--but ... I guess the 'honest' I'm talking-about is more like "true to the buying process"---wherein we trade our hard-earned credits for the products-&-services according to values placed on them by their producers.

I suppose I'm addicted to the idea that 'the producers' send their discounts "especially to me or -other readers of the best local newspapers (or -the best works published by people who find good deals)." But Wikibuy sorta changes that idea ... the sellers aren't waiting for 'readers of particular writings' to come buy; they're waiting for "anybody with money" to come buy, and the coupons are just 'out there for anybody!'
