#Santa (a.k.a. #SantaClaus #SaintAClaus #santakurosu #FatherChristmas): a study inspired by #KlondikeTheLostExpedition @Vizor_Games

Playing KLONDIKE: THE LOST EXPEDITION, one of 'the found expeditions' (¬_¬ ) is the cry-for-help from Santa---who lost The Christmas Star (or something).

I'll find out for sure, but now I invite you to join me in The Klondike (your invitation is the page linked through 'that name' below); however, I first want to understand that name better. And I find you understand names better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

'Santa' is- (or is named after-) Santa Claus---the 'manifestation of The Christmas Spirit' popularized by a classic poem ("Twas the Night Before Christmas") and a Coca-Cola advertising-campaign and a series of Tim Allen movies etc.-etc. ... the bishop (of Asia Minor) who became the Patron-Saint of Children.
The name “Santa” is built on the Middle Dutch Sinter (Saint)
The name “Claus” is built on Middle Dutch Niklaas (Nicholas).

(in case the image is unavailable, its text reads) Santa--even almost-deprived of his power--was a reliable companion on the journey. Even though he was advised against the long & hard road, he was adamant since he felt guilty for the fall of the star. On the way, Santa kept thinking that if it weren't for that experiment, he would already be preparing his sleigh and looking at the star shining in the sky."
