#HappyBirthday to Y'all (in the #December6 #BirthdayCohort with #BrotherKenneth @CopelandNetwork & @JuddApatow & ALL the @FamousBirthdays @Bing) on #SaintNicholasDay | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays, awareness-dates &or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains Saint #Nicholas in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that name better. And I find you understand names better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “Nicholas (\ #Nick #Nicola #Colin #Collin #Nic #Nicky)” is built on ancient words that mean "Victory of the People" (and actually having nothing to do with the 'Nick' in |Nickname (apologies for a few hyperlinks indicating otherwise)).

I just like the picture (the page was just 'wallpapers') "to find out more" ... use the 'Nicholas'-link above

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

This Day's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Sagittarius ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Andrew Cuomo ... and--since that list was so short--another one listed Steven Wright, Kenneth Copeland, Charles Bronson, Judd Apatow,  Elián González

... and many others (most of whom are at the 'Birthday-Cohort' link)---

you might comment telling why we should recognize a special one I missed ...

Or maybe you'd like a reminder of 'where you've seen one of the ones we DO mention'; Ask in your comment!

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating St. Nicholas with the clergy wearing White Vestments for the Optional Memorial (Violet Vestments otherwise)
