#HappyBirthday to Y'all (in the #December4 #BirthdayCohort with #FredArmisen @fredarmisen5 & @MarisaTomei & ALL the Famous Birthdays @Bing lists) on #NationalCookieDay | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays, awareness-dates &or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains 'the history of the #Cookie (the tasty dessert/snack, not necessarily the computer data-package)' in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “Cookie (\ #Cookies #Cooky #ThatsTheWayTheCookieCrumbles)” is built on ancient words that mean "Little Cake" (the 'packet of information carried between a computer & a server' is named after (what Unix-programmers called) "magic cookies," named after American Asian-restaurants' "Fortune Cookies"---after-dinner crackers folded around a little message for the diner).

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

This Day's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Sagittarius ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Max Baer Jr. (Jethro Bodine on THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES), Marisa Tomei, Jeff Bridges, JAY-Z, Tyra Banks, Fred Armisen, Roy L. Dennis (real life inspiration for Mask), Tony Todd (titular role in Candyman), game-show host Wink Martindale, Kevin Sussman (Stuart Bloom on The Big Bang Theory)

... and many others (most of whom are at the 'Birthday-Cohort' link)---

you might comment telling why we should recognize a special one I missed ...

Or maybe you'd like a reminder of 'where you've seen one of the ones we DO mention'; Ask in your comment!

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating St. John Damascene, with the clergy wearing White Vestments for the Optional Memorial (Violet Vestments otherwise)
