That's the way I'm thinking it works, with the Government apparently 'approaching its debt-ceiling' soon,
But maybe I need a review of 'how government-spending works.'
The Balance explains Government Bonds in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “Bonds (& #Bondage #Bonded #Bonding #Bondman #Bondsman #Bound)” is built on ancient words that mean "thing that Binds, Fastens or Confines" (as a Government Bond 'Binds' the government to pay a sum) - influenced by- (but "not 'related'" to-) a "Bond" (a |Serf (|Peasant), Slave/|Vassal) built on ancient words that mean "to |Dwell" (Be, Exist, Grow).
