A discussion about that name-change (from "Shangri-La" to "Camp David") is in the forum linked through 'that word' below (where you can MAKE MONEY by joining-in); but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)
The word “Shangri-La” (the name of an Imaginary Paradise (in the novel Lost Horizon)) is built on 'the name #Shangri' plus an ancient word that means Mountain Pass.
The name "Shangri" was totally imagined by James Hilton, but he might've been inspired by the word |Shanghai (to |Drug a man and |Capture him into |Service as a Sailor), as the novel tells of a group of people who arrived in Shangri-La by becoming |Stranded there.
