The name #David, (below-hyperlinked to your chance to purchase a Zondervan (publisher) NIV Bible (that's 'New International Version')) is built on an even-deeper source ... something crucial that firms the foundation upon which our lexicon stands ...
The name “David” is built on ancient words that mean |Beloved or |Uncle.

An outline of the family-tree (drawn on page 321):
- Boaz & RUTH
- Jesse - also father of Eliab, Abinadab, Shammah, Nethanel, Raddai & Ozem (David's elder brothers), and of two daughters ZERUIAH & ABIGAIL
- David
- no children (listed, anyway) with his wife MICHAL–daughter of Saul–whose love (along with her brother Jonathan's) of David was crucial to 'making his blood "royalty"'
... tho Samuel did anoint David, I'm not sure if King Saul recognized it (even tho Saul also became king through Samuel's anointing) - with wife AHINOAM, he had son Amnon
- with wife ABIGAIL of Carmel, he had son Kileab
- with wife MAACAH, he had son Absalom & daughter TAMAR
- with wife HAGGITH, he had son Adonijah
- with wife ABITAL, he had son Sephetiah
- with wife EGLAH, he had son Ithream
- & with wife BATHSHEBA (widow of Uriah), he had son Solomon (plus three other sons—Shammua, Shobab, Nathan)
- & ZERUIAH and/or ABIGAIL had sons
- Abishai, Joab, Asahel
... there's a little 'legend/key' in the bottom corner. I'll try to decipher it, but first I think I'll just copy it:
Jesse—Male
BATHSHEBA—Female—italicized, capitals
TAMAR—Bold type denotes ancestry and blood-line of David
So (and I know this is probably obvious, but just in case ...) I read that as 'females are all-caps & italicized, males are not (they're normal capitalization & font).'
And it also gives us the note (near the upper-right corner):
Nine other sons of David are listed in 1 Chronicles 3:6-8.
Looking that up, I find they are Ibhar, Elishua, Eliphelet, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliada, (another?) Eliphelet.
Also in that chapter of 1 Chronicles, I'm seeing that his son with Abigail (of Carmel) was actually/also Daniel
