        • no children (listed, anyway) with his wife MICHAL–daughter of Saul–whose love (along with her brother Jonathan's) of David was crucial to 'making his blood "royalty"'

          ... tho Samuel did anoint David, I'm not sure if King Saul recognized it (even tho Saul also became king through Samuel's anointing)
        • with wife AHINOAM, he had son Amnon
        • with wife ABIGAIL of Carmel, he had son Kileab
        • with wife MAACAH, he had son Absalom & daughter TAMAR

So (and I know this is probably obvious, but just in case ...) I read that as 'females are all-caps & italicized, males are not (they're normal capitalization & font).'


And it also gives us the note (near the upper-right corner):
Nine other sons of David are listed in 1 Chronicles 3:6-8.
Looking that up, I find they are Ibhar, Elishua, Eliphelet, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliada, (another?) Eliphelet.

Also in that chapter of 1 Chronicles, I'm seeing that his son with Abigail (of Carmel) was actually/also Daniel
