#LegendOf #Bartowski @nbcCHUCK & #ShortSkirtLongJacket | @getFANDOM @CAKEmusic

Shortskirt Longjacket ... sounds like 'a right-proper pirate name' if you've never heard
CAKE's song that was used (minus 'the lyrics') as the theme-song of 'the legend' we know as ...

(... CHUCK, in case you don't already know.)

CHUCK is an 'old' NBC action-comedy series that was about a college-dropout who gets involved in some spy-stuff ... you'll probably find out how through the 'legend' I'll outline below, but ...

Fans of CHUCK review the series' timeline in a report linked through 'that name' below; but first I want to understand that name better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The name “Bartowski” is probably a modification of #Bartichowski, built on ancient words that mean "Of the Polish Village of |Bartichów."

Looking at the character's surname, I think of the old (Hebrew?) 'bar' meaning "Heir of-" (e.g. Simon bar Jonah)---making a name that means 'Heir of Towski (or Heir of 'the household Of Tow?')'

The Legend (I'll start with-'what I saw (re-watching it ... now only finished with the fourth season)' and maybe -what I remember')
  • Who
    • The Bartowskis
      • Chuck - who adopted the "code-name" Charles Carmichael---most likely from the secret British agent Henry "Fakir" Carmichael in Agatha Christie's  They Came To Baghdad.
      • Dr. Ellie - Chuck's sister
        • her boyfriend/fiancé Dr. Devon "Captain Awesome" Woodcomb
          • his parents
      • Stephen - Chuck's father, who seemingly 'bailed on the family' (but actually HAD to leave because of his work as Orion)
    • Spies - I know 'some of the above' are also spies (and at least one of the below is also 'family'), but the series often deals with the issue of 'personal life outweighing professional life)
        • Their Organizations (I might get a little mixed-up on 'which agent is with which organization'---other than 'who's good & who's bad' ... although it might sometimes be unclear 'which side is which' ☯)

          • The NSA
          • The CIA
          • The FBI - not involved at all, only mentioned as 'a group the other groups look down-on'
          • The Ring - parent of
            • FULCRUM
      • Sarah Walker - pseudonym (probably) of Chuck's 'handler' (sort-of-a "bodyguard") ... whose "real" name might be Sam, might be Jenny ...
      • Agent John Casey, who was once named Alex Coburn
      • Bryce Larkin - who got Chuck kicked out of Stanford (probably "for Chuck's safety")
      • General Diane Beckham
      • Agent Daniel Shaw
    • 'Regular Life'-coworkers
      • Morgan Grimes - Chuck's best friend since childhood
        • Morgan's girlfriend Anna Wu, who leaves him when they go to Hawaii for his Hibachi-chef training; and he starts 'wooing' (or 'stalking'---whatever) Hannah---whom Chuck met on a 'trip' (secret 'mission' (Chuck's first solo 'mish')) to France, and so she might be in Burbank for Chuck (either 'romantically' or 'regarding the espionage' ... I still haven't re-watched that far (and I don't binge!))
      • Jeff
      • Lester
      • Big Mike Tucker - Chuck's boss, who's seeing Morgan's mother Bolonia
      • assistant managers Harry Tang, Emmett Milbarge
  • What
    • The Intersect - a computer-program that could download an entire database into a human brain, giving the human secret knowledge (usually spy-secrets) and a few abilities.
  • Where
    • Stanford University (Palo Alto, California)
    • Burbank, California
      • The Buy More - where Chuck and his 'RL'-coworkers are employed (John Casey's here for his cover-job)
      • Weinerlicious - where Sarah works her cover-job until she works for the restaurant that buys the building ...
      • Orange Orange
        • I don't know if they tell us the name of this business-complex, but it's all sitting on top of the secret lair known as Castle.
      • the cover-residence (formerly Ellie's apartment where Chuck is staying, then she & Devon move out & Morgan moves in with Chuck ... and I think Sarah & John live in apartments in the same complex (Echo Park))
      • Westside Medical, where Devon & Ellie work
  • When
    • varying times---mainly 2007-throught-2012, but with flashbacks as long-ago as 1980 ... see the timeline at the 'Bartowski'-link
  • Why
    • mainly 'because Stephen invented The Intersect' ... I'm not sure 'why he did that,' but Stephen might reveal it later (if the team rescues him from Fulcrum/The-Ring)
