#HappyBirthday to #PhoebeGates @phoebegoseq & @DanCortese & ... you? (the #September14 #BirthdayCohort) on a day I'm calling #ExaltationDay | @HolidaysCalendr @BirthdayMates #TheFamousPeople @YourTango @MySundayMass

... or -on 'whichever of these holidays &or event-anniversaries you celebrate!'

Holidays Calendar explains this day (better known as "Holy Cross Day" or "The #Exaltation of the Holy Cross" or "The Triumph of the Cross" or "Holy Rood Day") in a report linked through 'that word' below; but first I want to understand that word better. And I find you understand words better if you look at 'the words at their base' (then going on to look at the words at those words' bases, then the words at those words' bases, etc.-etc. ad infinitum)

The word “Exaltation (also the position of a Planet from whence it Exerts the Most Influence on the rest of the Zodiac ... but usually related to #Exalt #Exalted #Exalting)” is built on ancient words that mean "to Nourish, Grow |Tall from Within."

I sometimes get a little 'thrill' from realizing that I have the same birthday as several famous people, and enough other people get that thrill from seeing their birthday-cohort (both the currently-famous & the probably-not-yet famous) that I figure it's worth doing 'one of these entries for every birthday' ...

Today's Birthday-Cohort

Astrologically, their sign is Virgo ... no matter WHICH stars they were born under: Walter Koenig (Chekov on STAR TREK (the original series)), Amy Winehouse, Governor Ron DeSantis, Sam Neill, Dan Cortese (Jess Hanson on Melrose Place, host on MTV Sports), Phoebe Gates (aspiring ballerina, related to someone important ... medical-student/equestrian Jennifer!), James Wilson (one of America's Founding Fathers) ... and lots more I don't recognize (maybe you do recognize some ... you can find the date at the birthday-cohort link)

(and--if you or someone you know about has a birthday today
--please mention them (and how you know them or -know
about them) in the comments, thanks)

My Heart of the Nation calendar says that we (Catholics) are celebrating The Exaltation of the Holy Cross (tho HC says that's what Eastern Orthodox calls the day), with the clergy wearing Red Vestments for the Feast
