The word “Intensive” is built on ancient words that mean "to Turn one's |Attention, Strain, Stretch" (see |Intend ... yes, it is sometimes meant as "(something (usually a word) that is) Expressing Intensity"; but my source doesn't mention Intense in this entry 😕)
