Genesis - answers two big questions: “How did God’s relationship with the
world begin?” and “Where did the nation of Israel come from?”
Author: many of the stories were oral-tradition from ages before he was born, but it's widely held that Moses was the first to 'commit them to parchment.'
City CHURCH calls it "the first book of the Bible, recording Creation, the fall of man and the early years of the nation of Israel."

The title |Genesis| is from the protoword *gene- "give Birth, Beget" (today's word is from the Greek that they used to render the Hebrew bereshith "in the Beginning"---and that title came to mean "Origin, Creation" ... the same way "Apocalypse" went from meaning "Reveal" to 'the event that WAS Revealed (Decimation of Most of the World)).
